The Torx TX196 is a 196 cc, (11.96 cu·in) natural aspirated single-cylinder four-stroke air-cooled internal combustion small gasoline engine with a horizontal shaft. The TX196 engine is used for general-purpose applications, such as pumps, lawn cutting equipment, shredders, high-pressure washer, hydraulic pumps, and drive units.
The Torx TX196 engine has a single-cylinder, overhead valve (OHV), and recoil starter. This engine used a horizontal type carburetor, transistorized magneto ignition system, splash type lubricating system, and forced-air cooling system. The TX196 is equipped with a 3.6 L (0.95 US. gal. 0.79 Imp. gal.) fuel tank.
The TX196 engine produced 6.5 PS (4.8 kW; 6.4 HP) at 3,600 rpm of maximum horsepower and 10.7 N·m (1.1 kg·m, 7.9 ft·lb) at 3,000 rpm of maximum torque.
