The Honda E1000 is AC/DC single-phase, 2-pole portable generator with 1.0 KVA of rated power and 50/60Hz of rated frequency (depending on model). The E1000 generator is available with AC 120V or 240V (depending on model) and DC 12V rated voltage (E1000T model only).
The Honda E1000 generator used the Honda G40 single-cylinder gasoline engine with 170 cm3, (10.4 cu·in) of displacement. The engine has a side-valve (L-head) design, a wet-sump lubrication system, a and horizontal carburetor with a butterfly valve. The cylinder bore and the piston stroke are 66.0 mm (2.6 in) and 50.0 mm (2.0 in), respectively. The compression ratio rating is 6.5:1.
The engine produced 4.2 PS (3.1 KW; 4.2 HP) at 4,000 rpm of maximum horsepower and 3.3 PS (2.4 KW; 3.2 HP) at 3,600 rpm of rated power.
