The BMW M43TU or M43B19 is a 1.9 L (1,895 cc, 115.6 cu·in) straight-four natural aspirated four-stroke liquid-cooled internal combustion gasoline engine, manufactured by Bayerische Motoren Werke AG from 1998 to 2002.
It has an 85.0 mm (3.35 in) cylinder bore and 83.5 mm (3.29 in) piston stroke. The compression ratio rating is 9.7:1.
The BMW M43TU engine produced 105.0 PS (77.0 kW; 103.0 HP) at 5,300 rpm of maximum output power and 165.0 N·m (16.8 kg·m, 121.6 ft·lb) at 2,500 rpm of peak torque for the M43TUB19 UL engine version, or 118.0 PS (87.0 kW; 117.0 HP) at 5,500 rpm of horsepower and 180.0 N·m (18.4 kg·m, 132.7 ft·lb) at 3,900 rpm of torque for the M43TUB19 OL engine version.
