The Kawasaki FJ400D is a 401 cc, (24.47 cu·in) single-cylinder, natural aspirated four-stroke air-cooled internal combustion small gasoline engine with a horizontal shaft, manufactured by Kawasaki for general-purpose applications.
A 82.0 mm (3.23 in) cylinder bore and 76.0 mm (2.99 in) piston stroke give the FJ400D engine a total of 401 cc of displacement. The compression ratio rating is 8.2:1.
