The Honda GXV57 is a 57 cc (3.48 cu·in) natural aspirated single-cylinder four-stroke air-cooled internal combustion small gasoline engine with a vertical shaft, manufactured by Honda Motor Company for general-purpose applications, such as lightweight trimmers, tillers and hover mowers.
This engine produced 2.0 PS (1.5 kW; 2.0 HP) at 4,800 rpm of horsepower and 3.2 N·m (0.3 kg·m, 2.4 ft·lb) at 4,600 rpm of torque. Cylinder bore and piston stroke are 45.0 mm (1.77 in) and 36.0 mm (1.42 in), respectively. The compression ratio rating is 8.0:1.

Service Data
The Honda 4-stroke or an equivalent (SE or SF) oil with a viscosity of SAE 10W-30 is recommended for the GXV57, refilling oil capacity is 0.25 L (0.26 US. qt, 0.22 Imp. qt.). Recommended spark plug is NGK: CR4HSB; DENSO: U14FSR-UB with 0.6-0.7 mm (0.0236-0.0276 in) spark plug gap.
The valve clearance is 0.06-0.10 mm (0.0024-0.0039 in) for intake valves and 0.09-0.13 mm (0.0035-0.0051 in) for exhaust valves. Standard cylinder compression is 2.8 kg/cm2 (39.8 psi) at 1,000 rpm.
